I need to make some space for Sheva's upcoming litter, so I've reduced the price on these kids. I'm asking $75 for males, $100 for females, or $150 for a pair. For individual pictures, visit my iHerp page, www.iherp.com/katiem and look under available 2009 babies :) Thanks!

There is a gal I know who is looking at buying a normal from Petco. Let me talk to her and see if she wants a better snake.

Question on these guys. I have been considering one for a looooong time, but am concerned about their adult sizes. I have read that males generally are smaller but can reach 9ft. And females can get as large as 12 feet. Do you find this to be the case with the boas that you've kept? Hopefully by the time Fred has babies, I will be ready for one!

I can't say it WON'T happen, but it's highly unusual. Most of my males are in the 4-6 foot range, with the occasional outlier (i.e. Harley and Beau ~ 7 foot each). My largest female is just under 10 foot, and I don't think she'll get much longer, although she is quite girthy. When you get them as babies, they're pretty darn tiny, and you don't really notice the size once you've bonded... plus, it's not that likely they'd get too big. So, you're a Fred follower too?

I think you should visit someone who keeps them- handle them, carry them around for a while, etc. Because they are thick, heavy snakes, a 6' boa is a lot more snake than a 6' rat snake. Even after you've "bonded," a big snake is still a big snake, especially if you do most or all of the care yourself.
