I am posting this in the hope that someone on this forum has room at home for Toby, a beautiful, gentle, healthy 12-year-old Standard Poodle.
A year ago, my cousin and her husband divorced. It was an amicable separation and they are still friends, but there were casualties as always in divorce. Her husband's business has suffered with the lousy economy, and they had to sell their home. She moved out of state, but with 4 kids it's hard enough to find a place to live, and they had 2 dogs. She took the younger dog and her ex kept the older one, (Toby) and for a year Toby has been living with the new girlfriend, who has 2 other dogs. Now the girlfriend is in financial trouble (once again, the economy) and may lose her home, and can't keep Toby any longer. She and my cousin's ex are breaking up, and he has had to move again. Toby has some issues that make keeping him hard.
Toby is fine as long as there is someone around, or even another dog. If he is left alone in a small room he barks and sometimes chews things. He was so used to living in a crowd- 3 dogs and 5 kids and lots of space to play. He's a GREAT dog. I would take him myself but at the moment I am overwhelmed with personal issues that are taking all my energy, and we already have 2 dogs, one of which is an untrained puppy.
If you have a dog or 2 already, and would like another, a sweet, noble, mellow guy, please PM me. Toby is a wonderful boy. He loves other dogs and is great with children. He's special, and he needs a home.
