View Full Version : Looking for special potential homes for "special" needs snakes

So, I'm not set on getting these guys new homes, because I'm more than prepared to keep them for life, should the need arise to do so. These very awesome and beautiful babies are from Athena and Blayze's litter, the one that has had so many problems from the start. In full disclosure, Dr. Maas at the Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital stressed that these babies never be bred, as we cannot be certain that these "flaws" wouldn't be passed on if bred.

The babies I am offering to new homes would have minimal, if any, rehoming fee, as a great home is most important. I am going to require new homes to sign a contract stating that these snakes will never be used in any breeding projects, and that if the need to rehome them arises, they must be returned to me. So, here are the kids that I have. These 5 snakes are eating consistently on live rat pinks, or mouse hoppers. I have not yet attempted to switch them to f/t, as I wanted to get them really well established on food before I risked anything - enjoy!

Zipper - her main "issue" is her eyes. Her right eye is extremely undersized, and her left eye is bigger than it should be - in short, she appears to be blind. It hasn't hampered her attitude, and she still can hunt, stalk, and kill her prey no problems. She has an awesome pattern, too

Thursday - named for the day of the week she was born, this little girl is the only one of the litter with no outward appearance of any issues. She's a good eater, but has a very feisty attitude, and is quick to bite if she feels she's getting messed with =)

Kismet - Kismet (means Kharma) was given virtually no chance at survival. Her tail is "stumped" and severly kinked. She's my most consistent eater, and has grown a ton. She's got a great pattern and color to her, and is so sweet

Fluke - named for how the litter turned out (pattern and colorwise). She's eating consistently, about to go into her second shed, and awesome. She has two very small kinks near the tip of her tail, and other than that, looks great

Athens - by far the "runt" of the litter, this little girl is awesome. She has a domed head, a birth defect for sure. Her colors are fantastic, and she's taking food like it's going out of style. She's very tiny, and probably won't get very large full grown. She's definitely "special"

Let me know if you guys would be interested once you're all settled and moved. You'd be in that category of "special" homes ;)

I am just going to find a way to spend all day friday with you, (hopefully with out kids) as I am trying to get my spring cleaning done (I know that it is summer, but I never spring clean on time)

anyway-back to the beautiful babies that anyone would be lucky to have in their collection.

I love Athens' tiny little head! She is precious as are all your babies. :)
I have a "special" snake (my IJ, Hecate) and I've had "special" fish before and they have all beat the odds. I love "specials."

yeah, it would HAVE to be without kids, cause I'm having some other people over on Friday to look at snakes as well, and I don't think I could handle THAT many people in my apartment

I'm out of Thanks, so I'll thank you here :) They are so near and dear to me, and if I thought I could give them all the attention they deserved, I would keep them... I certainly have enough love to give them, that's not in doubt ;)

yeah, Kismet was the first one set aside by Kelly, a friend on another board. It looks like the first "batch" of the special needs boas are spoken for ATM. As soon as I get some of the others eating, we can chat again?

Fluke - Robyn
Kismet - Kelly
Athens - Jena
Thursday - Allysen
Zipper - I decided to keep
