Aw come on , their little, they won't take up much room. (this is the excuse I use on myself, it works very well :) )

No no no and no. My husband said, "No new habitats". But he's letting me get a tokay (or 2!) and a nice big enclosure for them. I don't want to push my luck. ;)

You can put them in with the geckos, then it wouldn't be a "new habitat". :D

How about the ol "But Honey, they followed me home" routine?

I already used that one when I brought home Andy Duphrane. :)
I just spoke to him on the phone, and he said we'll take 1 of Bryan's tincts if he takes all 3 of our auratas. ;)
hmmm you don't want to put critters that secrete toxins in a vivaria with critters that like to lick

I thought they only excreted toxins with their diet in the wild? Some type of ant, I think.
I know that it's supposed to be very much reduced. I wouldn't assume it's gone...you'd come home one day to a tank of dead cresties, and then you'd never be able to live with yourself
I would be more worried that the adult cresties would kill or eat the frogs.

Are the males territorial(fight)?
Nope, the females are the aggressive ones... for the most part.

Do they need a female to court? Do colors matter, I've seen yellow, green, orange, red, and now blue? These are the poison dart frogs?
From everything I've read, it's the males that don't like to share spaces. I've currently got 1 male and 2 females in the same enclosure (and have seen many similar male:female ratio setups), and they do great. I was told 1 male to every 2-3 females; 10g bare minimum (for a pair)...better to go w/ a 20g long or larger, depending on species and viv setup.
Check out this on saurian.net... http://www.saurian.net/htm05/froginfo_tinc_azureus.html Multiple females are usually a problem, at least with Suriname Cobalts..... I've read it in several different articles.

If I get one where can I get 1 female? I have three extra ten gallon aqua. right now. How old are the boys? how long do they live? I was brought a small tree frog from the local kids and kept it for 1 1/2 years before we set it free. I have two habba misters. I tried the foggers but found they were very susceptible to mineral problems from the plant and animal life. How about heating? Lighting? I've already picked out a name so it's a done deal, Blue Lightening, for all the storms in the midwest while I was in Basic. The prettiest blue lightening ever for hours on end. Reminds me of the blue in the frogs.
They can live up to 10 years, temps should be in the mid 70's for a daytime high so not much more than room temp really. The light I keep on their enclosure keeps it at least that high and provides a nighttime temp drop of about 8-10 degrees. www.saurian.net has a TON of info on these guys....
