I'd be very interested - would you freeze them, or would the buyer need to do that? Thanks!

Either way, in my new house or should I say slightly over sized packing container, it would be easier to dispatch just before the meeting.

6 week old Rex or larger weenlings equal a large to jumbo rat. Pretty much anything over 4.5 feet should have no problem. I fed my 7 foot a 4+ month old Rex which is 10+ inches long and 5 inches wide.
I was wondering if anyone raised guinea pigs as snake food? Another morbid curiosity question.
I have heard of this, but I think rabbits tend to be cheaper (don't they have much larger litters, usually?)
GPs have 2-5 per litter. They have much bigger heads in proportion to their bodies, so they can be a bit harder to swallow. Also some breeds of GP have ridiculous amounts of hair. I've heard of people having to shave their feeders before giving them to snakes.

Guinea pigs are not the best thing for snakes, at least from what I've read and found. they tend to be higher in fat and have rather large, hard skulls compared to rats/mice/rabbits. I'm sure as a variety meal, they would be fine but I wouldn't want to feed them exclusively.
That said, I'm pretty sure that Rodentpro.com carries them.

:(This subject always brings back bad memories. I fed a full grown g-p to my 8' red tail boa, she could not figure out which end to strike. After 5 min. (she never waited longer than 30 seconds before) she grabbed it's wrong end, witch apparently left said g-p slighted and proceeded to open a 3.5 inch slice about 2 scale depths deep now she was indignant. Wouldn't let go, the sounds were also shivering. NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!!! $$$$$$$ and after 6 sheds you couldn't tell.:mad::mad:

I can't generally attend the meetings due to work conflicts, where are you located out of? I know my snakes could handle a larger meal, but I prefer to feed smaller meals more frequently so as to not encounter any issues

FEED : About the same per bag $16-$22/ 50#
AMOUNT OF FEED : 3 rats = 2 rexes = 1 flemish
EACH WILL TAKE SCRAPS : Rat will definitely clean their plates
Rabbits are well vegetarian but certain veges are
actually bad (corn:confused:). Timothy hay is
over $21/ bale and must be kept dry.
CAGES : Rats are prone to tumors( feeding off a pregnant mom is hard). For some reason pregnancy tends to coincide with on set of tumors, facial warts in some breeds.
Rabbits are prone to fungal infections.
WARMTH: Rats seam to have a wider swing of temp. allowable. Rabbits are definitely cooler. Rats tend to breed 45-85 deg. but can take higher. Rabbits need 38-80 deg. but need ice and shade and a larger area in areas over 85.
LITTER SIZE : Rats 8-15. Rabbits 4-13
# OF DAYS TO JUMBO RAT SIZE : Rats 6 months to a year.
Rabbits 6-8 weeks. with only 1 month on
feed.

Feed : $16-$22/ 50#
Cage size : rats need about 18 x 18. rabbits need 36 x36.
Bedding : Rats need pine shavings.(cedar kills) Rabbits need timothy grass if only for breeding or very cold days 35-.
Day light: Rats can do with lower light but benefit from 1-2 hours a day of good uva vub source. Rabbits must have uva uvb 1-4 hours a day.
Water : Each good clean changed each day
Problems : Rats tend to get tumors at the same time their about to give birth:(. Rabbits are prone to fungal infections. So keep them dry.
Scraps : Rats will eat anything and everything, cages water bottles or lines, silicone in tanks, and loose wiring. Rabbits are vege lovers, but corn is not good for them(what do you expect I'm not a cow), neither are most tropicals, pits and some seeds can kill( avocado, cherry, and peach) One bale of timothy is over $21.

Yeah I know how ya mean I am just getting into breeding rats and rabbits.. My rabbit will be having her babies on xmas and rats will be here a week after. Ive done so much research rabbits are easier for me but rats are so interesting with their personalities. Its going to be interesting but save us soooo much money! We were paying 40 bucks weekly to feed our snakes and it was killing us.

For rats, I suggest getting a bag of compressed wood pellets (horse bedding) and using a scoop of that in the bottom of the cage along with a small amount of shavings. You'll find that the smell is next to nothing and your shavings will last a LOT longer since you only have to use a 1/4 or so of what would usually be needed.

I'm in the south end. East of Puyallup about 35 min. I have 3 acres with lots of space outside. I will drive to deliver for gas. But I deliver to the meeting free! I have mice, soft furred rats, and regular rats. Though I in a rebuild phase on the rats as the coyotes thought I had way to many and saw fit to relieve me of 200- 300.
