:mad::mad::mad:
These poor Colombians are suffering so bad. You can tell just by looking at them they have mites Obviously and most likely mouth rot in an advanced stage. this a-hole is trying to sell them for $300.00 instead of getting them proper care!!!!
I hope whoever takes them has the capacity to heal them if they are not so fargone right now, This seriously almost made me cry looking at them

what the! I have never seen anything like that!omg!
I'm assuming the owner has no idea anything is wrong (which, quite frankly, is totally beyond my understanding). Otherwise why would he/she post so many photo's showing the blatantly obvious head and mouth swelling.
I've only owned a red tail for a grand total of a week and I knew something was terribly wrong with the nearer boa in the picture at first glance.
And I love the chicken wire covering the front opening. It's a wonder their faces aren't chewed up as well from rubbing.

Were you the one who posted the nasty response to that post? Oops, looks like someone removed it. There was a post on CL about that ad, that basically said that there was something horribly wrong w/ those snakes and that it wasn't fair to try and sell these to some unsuspecting person who would end up with a zillion dollars in vet bills; nor was it fair to the snakes to ignore their health and instead of taking them to the vet, just pawning them off on some sucker. Funny that that post got removed, but the post trying to sell these poor animals stays.
I was referring to WDPF. ;)
Should have been more clear.
i just got an email from the guys and he says they are healthy and onw is deformed from an injury earlier in life. and they were "allegedly" at a vet earlier in the week. = P
Ask him which vet and what the records say, and that nobody should buy those without the proper paperwork from the vet signing off on their health.

Yeah I Posted that On Cl, It got flagged right away though....Pity
I saw that and was concerned as well. I'm amazed the boas aren't thinner with mouths that bad
I personally agree with it being flagged. You rarely change people's minds by yelling. Ive known a couple people that have chosen not to be involved with herp communities like this one because we come off a little strong sometimes. Just think about it,

If this was true and now he is looking for help (not sying this is true, but if it had happened), someone points him to the PNHS site and he sees this he's most likely going to get either very defensive or run the other way, no good done. Maybe next time try an email asking first?
that's an excellent point, Brittany, and I completely agree. it's why I don't post responses to CL ads on CL; I either drop it or email the people directly.

And along with that, it's a classifieds area, not a discussion area. The few times I'm on there I'll flag things that obviously should have been in a different area or sent via private email to the original poster.
Either way, I hope whoever gets the boas either doesn't have any other snakes, or keeps them securely quarantined. Sad to say but those animals are a disaster waiting to happen to someone's collection.

did anybody notice that they were also selling an adult pair of BRB's? that listing was gone fast though since they were selling them in the same broken tank for only $300.

:sigh:
Perhaps I was a bit harsh but I was under the sincere impression that the animals were being mistreated. I have the tendency to be a Lil strange at times. I was told to by Army doctors that its due to extreme combat stress. But I dunno. All I know is that I don't like watching Snakes Or any animal for that matter suffer.
I e-mailed an apology for my haste is in condemning the man.
My apologies to all
I think it's perfectly normal to feel the way you do when seeing animals in obvious distress. I've never been in combat, and I get downright ****ed when I see animals that have been mistreated.
I think if you hadn't posted that response on CL, it only would have been a matter of time before someone else did.
Let's just hope that you maybe opened the eyes of the owner. Perhaps they didn't know?? (maybe?) Hopefully they will get the veterinary care that they need.
...unless that is a birth defect and has been seen by a vet as he claims :D

Did anyone take a screen shot or save one of the pictures? I'm curious what a sick Boa looks like.
