Hey, I have an Abronia graminea male for sale. The female is on hold for someone, so as of right now I just have a male for sale. If you aren't familiar with this species *Please* do your homework on them! They are a very rare species of alligator lizard from Mexico. They both have Cites paperwork, which will go with them and I will hold a copy incase you need an extra in the future to protect both you and me. These are 100% legal animals!

The male is $2,000.

Here are two pictures of the male. I need to take some more and will post them soon! (he has gotten alot more green).

Thanks Erik

Thanks. They are my pride and joy but my new 600 Gallon Saltwater Reef tank (and all my other tanks) take up the majority of my time and unfortunatly I need to sell these guys.. I will still have some other reptiles, just downsizing some..

Thanks Erik

I have experience with Northern Alligator lizards, (native to Western WA) I have over wintered, raised and re-released.
Were these a breeding pair that you are splitting up?
If so, were you ever able to successfully breed them?
Do they give live birth like the Northern Alligator lizard?
It is a beautiful lizard but unfortunately it is out of my price range.:(
I really hope you get a person with experience to take this guy! :)

Wow, sorry you have to sell them! I still remember seeing them when I bought a couple of the gecko cages off of you months ago. Beautiful little lizards! I hope they find a great home.

OMFG.. I think I just had a bloody stroke! I've wanted A. graminea literally since I got into herps at 13 years old. Why OH WHY do I have to be so poor?! *keels over*

Yes, a future breeding pair of mine that I am splitting up. The person interested in my female has 2 males and no females, so they have no interest in the male. They were never even introduced to breed as I was waiting until about 2.5-3 yrs of age to start breeding so that there are never any issues with birth and all.. They were kept together when they were younger without issue and have been in cages side-by-side since they were separated so that they can see each other.

Live Birth.

Yes, they may be very expensive. But they are very hard to come by. There are some illegal animals that I know of floating around, but 100% legally imported Abronia aren't easy to spot.

If anyone is interested in this male, I can email a buddy and have him put you on the list for a female in the future if you would like.

Brie: These are one of the few species I have wanted to work with when I started too. The others (Naultinus and the Fiji Island banded iguana) have so far escaped me since I won't take animals without proper import permits.

I figured I would post them for sale on here, to see if I can sell them locally first. I know if I post them on Kingsnake.com they will be gone very fast, I just want to avoid shipping them if possible.

Thanks Erik

I hear ya. Naultinus and fijis are also some of my favs. The closest I can get to owning something like them is drooling over photos from the bloody UK(why do they get all of the awesome animals?!), and visiting the Fijis at my friend Terry's zoo in North Dakota... I swear I would give any number of vital organs to move over there to work in that place. I have an open job offer. lol

(this fem. is from the SLZ though)

Ya, I am currently on a few waiting lists for both of those other species. I have applied for import permits 2 times for the Fijis from the UK that have CB lineage for over 15years, but was turned down... :( I have been able to work with a bunch of sweet reptiles at the Denver Zoo though.

Bump on the Abronia graminea though!

It definatly won't be easy to part with them. But with my fish hobby taking up so much I am mainly focusing on the fish for now.

Just thought I would update this and say that this guy is NOT for sale.. The opportunity came by for me and I ended up buying two more females. So he isn't going anywhere!

Babies... Soon I hope! I am actually buying acouple other species of Abronia and I have a friend importing me a couple other super rare lizard species from the Hamm show in September! :)

Although my 600 gallon saltwater tank project has taken a back burner since I have been buying alot more reptiles. However it is still in the process, just alot slower then it should have been.

Thanks Erik

I have never went through so many emotions reading this post ! :o. I stumbled upon these guys a couple of weeks ago and cried when I found I wouldn't be able to get any and now, NOW they are in my backyard! :punk:

What would you ask for a baby?

Is indentured servatude still legal?

Thanks for posting the photos and making me cry ;)

Babies will be $1,000-$1,500 and up.. Everything about my animals is Legal. I have all the necessary Cites paperwork to back up every animal I own. I do not have anything to do with Illegal animals.

Not sure about the whole servatude idea.. Fairly certain that wouldn't work! :)

Thanks Erik
